Celebrations by the followers to mark the Foundation-day of Dera Saccha Sauda in New Delhi
The Foundation Day of Dera Saccha Sauda falls on 29th April and is celebrated throughout the month in the form of “Bhandara” at different locations in India and abroad. The followers of the sect gathered in huge numbers at the Site No1. recreational complex, Tuglakabad in New Delhi to mark the occasion with pomp and gaiety.

New Delhi April 17: The Foundation Day of Dera Saccha Sauda falls on 29th April and is celebrated throughout the month in the form of “Bhandara” at different locations in India and abroad. The followers of the sect gathered in huge numbers at the Site No1. recreational complex, Tuglakabad in New Delhi to mark the occasion with pomp and gaiety.
The event started at 10 am, with a chorus of “Dhan dhan satguru tera hi aasra”, a chant of gratitude towards their Guru, to initiate the “Naamcharcha”, which is a medley of bhajans in praise of the Revered Guruji, sung by the devotees.
Addressing the huge gathering the responsible sewadars (volunteers) said that Guruji Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insaan has always done good for the society and has instilled the same values in his followers. It is because of his teachings that the followers of Dera Saccha Sauda have taken up 138 acts of social welfare. The followers and the sewadars raised both their hands to affirm their pledge of loyalty for their Guru and continue to carry on the welfare deeds initiated by him with full dedication and ferver.
Of note, the first Guru of Dera Saccha Sauda Revered Sai Mastanaji Maharaj laid the foundation of Dera Saccha Sauda on 29th April 1948. He gave the “Gurumantra” to his disciples and guided them on the path of humanitarian deeds and social welfare. The second Guruji Revered Shah Satnaam ji Maharaj conducted thousands of Satsangs at various places and initiated numerous followers with “Gurumantra” and led them on the humanitarian path. The present Guru Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh ji Insaan has initiated 138 welfare works that are being carried forward by all the followers with utmost devotion. These welfare works include blood donation, kidney donation, eye donation and whole-body donation after death, tree plantation, deaddiction, constructing houses for poor families, getting girls of poor families married off, donating tricycles to the handicapped, distributing ration to the needy families and helping in treatment of the sick from poor families etc. On 29th April 2007, the Revered Guruji also initiated the “Ruhaani Jaam” to revive the dying faith of humanity.
