In New Delhi, the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) organized the 23rd Handicrafts Export Awards Ceremony at Ashoka Hotel Delhi. The exporters were felicitated for their outstanding performance during the year 2017-18 and 2018-19 in this much awaited event. A large number of handicrafts exporters from all corners of the country participated in the event along with Raj.K.Malhotra, Chairman, EPCH. Kamal Soni, Vice-Chairman, EPCH, Rakesh Kumar, Director General and Chairman, EPCH, India Exposition Mart Limited, and members of the Governance Committee of EPCH also participated in the event. Amit and Varun Malhotra were awarded two Export Awards for 2017-18 and 18-19. Epch chairman Raj kumar malhotra ji is also the chairman of epch.
Chief Guest of the event Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Textiles Piyush Goyal, Special Guest Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India and Minister of State for Railways Darshana Vikram Jardosh presented handicrafts export awards. Upendra Prasad Singh, IAS, Secretary in the Union Ministry of Textiles was present in the program. The program was presided over by Shantmanu, IAS, Handicrafts Development Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Piyush Goyal, congratulated the award winners and encouraged them to envision and work for manifold growth for their enterprises.
He congratulated the dynamism of the sector and Rakesh Kumar, DG, EPCH especially for commissioning of MICE – India Expo Center and Mart and driving the handicrafts sector not only as a self-sustaining but profitable enterprise. Rakesh Kumar, Director General, EPCH informed that due to the pandemic, the export award ceremony could be held after a gap of three years, hence award winners have been awarded for two consecutive years. All the stakeholders related to handicrafts sector were eagerly waiting for this annual event. EPCH Chairman Rajkumar Malhotra informed that 61 winners of the year 2017-18 and 65 winners of the year 2018-19, ie a total of 126 winners, were given prizes. Apart from this, a Special Commendation Award has also been presented.
