Development of North East Region of India has been largely Government driven. Energy, Infra, roads and air connectivity is among the best now. But, due to low participation by the private sector the markets, business and entrepreneurships could not develop. This is changing now in agri space as many projects are coming up in tissue culture, green houses, poultry, dairy, aquaculture, food processing etc.
Accompanied by CGM, NABARD, Mr. Naveen Dhingra, yesterday visited one aquaculture project, Kalong-Kapili, 40 kms from Guwahati, started by a team of seven entrepreneurs, which has integrated facility from breeding to production and supplies fish fingerlings to five states in NER. More such projects are coming up by local entrepreneurs that is set to change the socio-economic scenario of the region.
