Maharishi Valmiki was an Adikavi and he is also called the father of Shlokas: Adesh Gupta
New Delhi, 9 October. State BJP President Shri Adesh Gupta said that Maharishi Valmiki ji is the source of inspiration for all of us, who was born on the full moon day of Ashwin month and this day is celebrated as Valmiki Prakat Utsav in Hindu calendar. He said that Valmiki Prakat Utsav holds a special significance not only for Valmiki Samaj but for all of us. Because Valmiki was a primitive poet whose shlokas have inspired everyone and that is why he is also called the father of shlokas. Today, if the ideals of Lord Shri Ram are connecting all of us in the whole country, then the credit goes to Maharishi Valmiki.
Today, on the occasion of Valmiki Prakat Utsav, many programs were organized at different places in Delhi. While addressing the program organized at Valmiki Temple located on Mandir Marg, Shri Adesh Gupta told about Valmiki's life and said that Valmiki was the son of Pracheta and according to the Puranas Pracheta was the son of Brahma ji. There are many legends about Maharishi Valmiki's childhood. He said that it is also said about Valmiki that in childhood he was stole by a Bhilani, yet he was brought up in the Bhil caste itself. After meditating and doing penance for many years, he started chanting the name of Ram. Then he pleased Brahma ji with his penance and he got the name and knowledge of Maharishi Valmiki.
