On the 26th death anniversary of great Indian Leader “Bhumi Putra Sh. Biju Patnaik”, Aks Society Delhi organized Bhumi Putra Honourable Biju Patnaik International Peace Awards 2023 at Kaveri Kala Sangam, New Delhi. Aks Society is a Delhi based non-Profit Organization headed by the renowned Classical Odissi exponent, Actress, Choreographer, and Social Worker Dr. Chandana Raul.
The prestigious award was conferred upon 10 highly successful personalities from different fields with national and international repute who have made extraordinary achievements in their respective arenas:

The event started with the singing of the National Anthem followed by an Odissi dance, which was a tribute by Dr Chandana Raul to Shri Biju Patnaik. Following this, there was the presentation of an Armenian dance by Anna Norik Hosepyan, Armenia, a Bharatnatyam dance showcased by Nritya kalp Dance Academy, New Delhi and a Contemporary dance put forth by students of the Dancing Life Academy, New Delhi. The audience were awestruck by the global representation of the various dance forms, thoroughly enjoying the vibrancy and exuberant performances put forth by all the dancers.
The learned dignitaries and delegates expressed their heart-felt respect and gratitude to the great leader “Bhumi Putra Sh. Biju Patnaik”, by expressing their thoughts on the visionary ideas that he had with regards to the modern state and how his contributions managed to reach out to people internationally, thereby connecting the world globally. They also emphasized that “Art is a way of reaching a wide range of people and it is the only medium in establishing peace and harmony in the society. The dignitaries believed that this served as a noble attempt at propagating peace and harmony through the use of art and lauded Dr Raul for conferring such an award to various renowned personalities for their contributions in different fields. They also added that no other gesture could possibly serve as a bigger tribute to Sh. Biju Patnaik.
The event came to a close by the vote of thanks which was offered by Dr. Chandana Raul, Chairperson of Aks Society, New Delhi. She narrated her struggles from a small, infamous district, Koraput, Odisha and how she dedicated her life to the art of Odissi dance to date. She says, such award ceremonies are a token of gratitude to those individuals who are evermore involved in the process of contributing to the betterment of society as a whole.
