BHADERWAH (J&K), June 21: The serene Gatha Lake View Resort transformed into a vibrant ground of peace and wellness as people from all walks of life gathered to celebrate International Yoga Day 2025. Set against the stunning Himalayan backdrop, the event radiated unity, discipline, and community spirit.
Organized by the District Administration Doda in collaboration with the Ayush Department, the celebration saw active participation from students, teachers, civil society members, officials, and security forces. The yoga session began early in the morning, as participants performed various asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation practices, surrounded by the calming sounds of the Neeru River and the chirping of birds.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” echoed throughout the event. Children and elders alike displayed impressive enthusiasm and focus, making the session both energetic and inspiring.
In a unique move, the event also featured a Swachhta Pledge and a cleanliness drive, reinforcing the connection between personal health and a clean environment.
While addressing the media, ADC Bhaderwah Sunil Bhutyal said: “Yoga connects individuals to themselves and to society. A healthy individual builds a healthy family, and healthy families make a strong nation. Events like these are not just about physical exercise—they are about shaping a disciplined, aware, and responsible citizenry. The District Administration will continue to support such wellness initiatives to build a cleaner, healthier, and stronger India.” He also added, “Clean mind, clean body, clean surroundings – Yoga and Swachhta go hand in hand.”

Local residents appreciated the initiative for promoting not just physical health but also environmental and social responsibility. The event concluded with a collective pledge to adopt yoga as a daily practice and to spread its message of peace, harmony, and national unity.
