Saharanpur, July 17, 2025: Iqra Hasan, the Samajwadi Party (SP) Member of Parliament from Kairana, Uttar Pradesh, has accused Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Santosh Bahadur Singh of Saharanpur of misconduct during a meeting on July 1, 2025. According to Hasan, accompanied by Chhutmalpur Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Shama Parveen, she visited the ADM’s office to discuss local issues. The MP alleges that Singh behaved disrespectfully, scolded Parveen, and rudely asked both women to leave his office, saying, “Get out” or “Workplace se bahar jaiye.”The incident has sparked outrage among SP supporters, with protests erupting and a memorandum submitted to the Saharanpur Collectorate demanding action against the ADM. Hasan lodged a formal complaint with the Principal Secretary (Appointments) and Saharanpur Divisional Commissioner Atal Kumar Rai, prompting an investigation ordered by District Magistrate Manish Bansal. The DM has also directed officials to maintain respectful conduct with public representatives.ADM Santosh Bahadur Singh has denied the allegations, calling them baseless. SP President Akhilesh Yadav condemned the incident on X, stating, “Those who do not respect a Member of Parliament, what will they do to the public?” Hasan also criticized the ADM’s behavior on X, highlighting the contradiction with the government’s women-friendly claims.The controversy has gained significant attention, with SP and Congress leaders rallying behind Hasan.
