Forgiveness at the Forefront: Jain Community Celebrates Kshamapana Mahaparv

Leaders and saints highlight forgiveness as the essence of Jain philosophy and universal harmony

The Mahaparv Kshamapana Ceremony was celebrated with grandeur at Mahavir Centre, New Delhi, under the joint auspices of the Bhagwan Mahavir Memorial Committee and Jain Mahasabha, Delhi.

Addressing the gathering, Param Pujya Niryapak Patthacharya Prathamacharya Shri Shrutsagar Ji Muniraj said: “Jainism is a scientific philosophy, and Kshamapana (seeking forgiveness) destroys the sin of ego.”

BMMS President Shri K. L. Patawari welcomed all Acharyas, Saints, and Dignitaries, adding: “On this sacred occasion, we must seek forgiveness from and grant forgiveness to every section of society.”

Local MLA Shri Anil Sharma emphasized: “No one becomes small by asking for forgiveness. I will make forgiveness an ideal in my life.”

Other spiritual leaders also shared their insights:
• Muni Dr Abhijit kumar ji and Muni Shri Jagrit Kumar Ji emphasised… “Forgiveness removes sins and fills the mind with joy.”
• Taporatan Acharya Shrimad Vijay Ratan Surishwar Ji Maharaj: “Kshamapana gives the message of unity and liberation from attachment and aversion.”
• Muni Shri Rachit Ji: “Forgiveness can melt even the hardest of hearts.”

Renowned social worker Shri Naresh Jain extended forgiveness on behalf of the Sthanakwasi community, while Shri Sukharaj Sethia did so on behalf of the Terapanth community.

Acharya Shri Virsagar Ji observed: “India is a land of festivals, and on this day, we should forgive not only our enemies but also seek forgiveness from plants, trees, and even tiny creatures.”

Shri Rajkumar Oswal of Shwetambar Murtipujak samaj described Kshamapana as a “festival of great welfare.”

Addressing the gathering, Rajya Sabha MP and former BJP Vice President Shri Shyam Jaju said:

“The Kshamapana Ceremony is not only for the Jain community but for the entire human race.”

He also recalled Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s repeated presence at Lord Mahavir’s Nirvana Mahotsav and RSS Sarsanghchalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat ji’s presence at the janam kalyanak functions, which, he said, had greatly enhanced the dignity of such celebrations.

There was a Swagat song and a bhajan sung by Terapath mahila mandal and mandar sangh mahila mandal besides a duet bhajan by Muskan Nahata n accompanied by Harsh Nahata doing the percussion beats backdrop thru vocals on the mike.

BMMS and JAIN MAHASABHA honoured the Tapasvi’s who had undertaken Maskhaman or more Tapasya with momento n Malayarpan.

LOKARPAN of The annual directory.. GAJENDRA SANDESH detailing the Chaturmas of all India’s Sadhu n Sadhvi Bhagwant was undertaken by Shri Shyam Jaju and distingushed special guests.

The kshmapna ceremony was attended by several distinguished personalities of the Jain community, including Shri K. L. Patawari, Shri Vipin Jain, Shri Sampatmal Nahata, Shri Punit Jain, Shri Dinesh Doshi, Shri Rajendra Jain, Shri Rakesh Jain, and Shri Anil Jain, among others.
