The Small Animal Veterinary Association, Delhi (SAVA) successfully organized an Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Awareness Camp on 28th September 2025, commemorating World Rabies Day, at 8/10, RWA Chimni Wala Katra, Roshanara Road, near Ghanta Ghar Chowk, Sabzi Mandi, Guru Hanuman Marg, Delhi-110007.
The event saw the vaccination of over 350 dogs, carried out through both a door-to-door approach and on-site arrangements. Several dogs and cats also received medical treatment during the camp.
Key SAVA office bearers including Dr. Bhupender Chahal (President), Dr. Vijay Kumar (Treasurer), Dr. Praveendutt Sharma (General Secretary), Dr. Hanif Ahamad, Dr. Vikas Bhardwaj, along with other dedicated members, played an active role in organizing and executing the campaign.
The camp was honored by the presence of local MCD councillor Ms. Renu Sharma and other notable delegates, who appreciated the efforts of SAVA Delhi and acknowledged the support of local animal lovers and dog feeders, whose participation made the event a success.
It’s encouraging to note that many private veterinarians also contributed by offering free anti-rabies vaccinations (ARV) to stray dogs at their clinics. Moving forward, SAVA aims to extend this initiative into schools to educate and sensitize students about rabies prevention and animal welfare.
In response to public demand and support from local leaders, more such camps are planned in the near future.
