New Delhi: 15 September, 2025 : Mr. Navaid Hamid, the working president of All India Muslim Majlis e Mushawarat (AIMMM) the only confederation of prominent Muslim organisations and affluent Muslims in country, has welcomed the interim order of Supreme Court on the contentious Waqf Amendment Act and has termed it satisfactory apart from decisive blow to the unconstitutional provisions of Waqf Amendment Act enacted by the Modi government under the pretense of having a majority in Parliament.
The judgement is also a reminder to BJP’s regional allies particularly Andhra Pradesh CM Chanderbabu Naidu and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar that supporting unconstitutional moves of BJP will bring embrassment to your politics of convenience for survival apart from being remembered as partners of the divisive agenda and even unconstitutional legislations.

Mr. Navaid Hamid also reprimanded those ‘Muslim faces’ who were jumping to celebrate the Waqf Amendment Act and reminded them that the SC’s interim order has exposed their wisdom and understanding of the constitutional provisions apart from pinning injuries
Mr. Navaid Hamid has reminded the proponents of the Waqf Amendment Act that the judgement has vindicated Muslims stand that the reforms in the Waqf provisions should be based on mutual consultations with real stake holders and as per the constitutional provisions and rights of the minorities as enshrined in the constitution.
Mr. Hamid opined that Supreme court’s ruling for upholding the supremacy of the Waqf Tribunals in deciding the status of Waqf after nullifying provision for unbrilled role of collectors’ in the Act, the stayed provisions of nominations of non Muslims in Waqf Boards and limiting it to maximum.of three in it has vindicated muslim community’s concern about the vicious agenda of the government to usurp the Waqf properties in name of reforms.
Mr. Navaid Hamid has also welcomed SC stay on the provision mandating five years of practising Islam for the creation of Waqf,l which was affront on the consitutional rights of the citizens.
Mr. Navaid Hamid also expressed satisfaction that the Honorable Court has given a clear direction that the CEO of the Waqf Board will be a Muslim.
