The Federation of Sadar Bazar Trades Association (FESTA) Chairman Paramjit Singh Pamma and President Rakesh Yadav have strongly condemned the US government’s imposition of a 50% tariff on Indian goods. They stated that this move would be detrimental to India’s economy and could strain trade relations between the two nations.

Pamma and Yadav called the US decision unfair and unwise, emphasizing that such tariffs could spark a trade war, ultimately harming both economies. They expressed concern over the negative impact on India’s economic growth and highlighted the risk of long-term damage to bilateral trade.

Both leaders urged the US government to reconsider its decision and focus on building stronger trade partnerships with India through dialogue and cooperation. They believe that mutual understanding and agreement are key to resolving such disputes.

Additionally, Pamma and Yadav appealed to Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide greater relief to Indian traders by reducing GST and offering low-interest loans. These measures, they said, would empower local businesses to compete effectively and make indigenous goods more affordable in the domestic market.
