New Delhi, June 5 : In a joint initiative to mark World Environment Day, the SDM Office, Rajouri Garden, in collaboration with Trinity Foundation, organized a public awareness event aimed at promoting a plastic-free lifestyle and encouraging environmental sustainability.

The event was graced by Dr. Nitin Shakya, SDM – Patel Nagar, and Dr. Sameer Bhati, President and Director of Trinity Foundation, who addressed the gathering on the harmful impacts of plastic pollution and the importance of collective action. Both speakers urged citizens to make eco-conscious choices in daily life.

A tree plantation drive was held during the event as a symbolic gesture to strengthen community commitment toward environmental conservation. Participants, including officials, community members, and children, enthusiastically joined in planting saplings.

As part of the outreach, eco-friendly paper bags were distributed to attendees, and plastic-free stationery kits were gifted to children to promote sustainable habits from an early age.

One of the key attractions was the flagging off of an Awareness Van by Trinity Foundation. This van will travel across various city areas throughout the month of June, spreading the message of a plastic-free lifestyle and inspiring public participation in environmental protection.

Children played an active role in the event, holding placards, sharing messages on sustainability, and participating in interactive activities that highlighted the importance of reducing plastic use.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge by all attendees to contribute toward a cleaner, greener, and plastic-free environment.
