GTTCI and Embassy of Nepal Celebrate International Wellness Day 2026 with Global Diplomacy, MoU Signing and Wellness Dialogue

New Delhi, 15 April 2026: The Global Trade and Technology Council (India), in association with the Embassy of Nepal, successfully celebrated International Wellness Day 2026 at the Embassy premises in New Delhi, marking a distinguished convergence of global diplomacy, wellness leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration.

The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Ambassadors of Nepal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Malaysia, Mongolia, and Trinidad and Tobago, along with diplomats from Comoros, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Russia, Sri Lanka, UNESCO and ESCAP. Their participation reflected strong international solidarity towards promoting holistic wellness and sustainable global cooperation.

A significant highlight of the occasion was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GTTCI and the Embassy of Nepal, reinforcing a shared vision to enhance collaboration in wellness, culture, trade, and sustainable development. The partnership was widely acknowledged as a progressive step in strengthening India–Nepal bilateral relations.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Founder President of GTTCI, followed by a powerful keynote address by Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of GTTCI, who emphasized the global importance of wellness diplomacy in shaping healthier societies. A special address was delivered by H.E. Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal, highlighting deep-rooted cultural and spiritual ties between India and Nepal.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, Former Union Minister for HRD and Science & Technology, delivered an inspiring address on India’s ancient knowledge systems and their continued relevance in modern science and wellness frameworks.

The distinguished presence of General Dalbir Singh Suhag further added immense prestige to the occasion, reflecting the importance of discipline, leadership, and national service in advancing holistic wellness and nation-building values.

A symbolic Rudraksha tree plantation ceremony was conducted within the Embassy premises with participation from all dignitaries, representing peace, healing, and environmental consciousness. The event also featured a video message from the Foreign Minister of Nepal, further elevating its diplomatic significance.

A special moment of appreciation was extended by the Ambassador of Nepal through the presentation of a commemorative memento to Dr. Rashmi Saluja and Dr. Gaurav Gupta, recognizing their leadership and contribution to global wellness initiatives.

The wellness panel discussion brought together eminent experts including Dr. Ajai Bhambi, Dr. Mohan Karki, Dr. Sunil Verma, Mr. Gyanendra Gongal, and Dr. Gunita Singh, who shared valuable insights on integrated wellness approaches across physical, mental, spiritual, and public health dimensions. Additionally, Dr. D.R. Karthikeyan and Dr. Sandeep Marwah also addressed the gathering, appreciating GTTCI’s efforts in promoting global harmony through wellness diplomacy.

Special appreciation was extended to Gopal’s 56 for gracious hospitality, contributing to the warm and elegant experience of the event. Lions Club Delhi Veg also played a meaningful role by supporting the plantation initiative and environmental cause.

The dignitaries and panelists were felicitated for their valuable contributions, followed by a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Surendra Thapa, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Nepal.

The event concluded on a powerful note of unity, sustainability, and global cooperation, reaffirming GTTCI’s commitment to building a healthier, more connected, and wellness-driven world.
