A welcome ceremony and organizational meeting of the Delhi State Mahila Morcha (Women’s Wing) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was held at the state office.
The event was graced by former Mahila Morcha President Yogita Singh; BJP Delhi State General Secretary and former President Smt. Richa Pandey; Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Lata Gupta; BJP Vice Presidents Sarika Jain and Sona Kumari; BJP Delhi State Secretary Pravina Ji; and Women’s Commission members Shyam Bala, Malti Verma, Renu Bhalla, and Sanrika Jha.
All office-bearers of the Delhi State Mahila Morcha arrived on time to mark their presence. Everyone introduced themselves and expressed gratitude to the senior office-bearers. The welcome ceremony was conducted in the traditional manner, with the presentation of the party scarf (patka) to the guests.
In her address, Women’s Commission Chairperson Lata Gupta stated that those who have received a position must discharge their responsibilities diligently, while also ensuring that those without a specific post are taken along; above all, one must robustly fulfill the responsibility assigned for one’s specific area.
Addressing the gathering, Delhi State General Secretary Yogita Singh remarked that the strength of the organization lies in the spirit of unity and collaborative work. Sharing her own experiences, she described how her journey—learning while serving in various roles—had been unforgettable and would continue to be so in the future. She advised all Mahila Morcha office-bearers to embrace teamwork, explaining that continuous engagement and dedication would allow them to progress further within the organizational fold.
Subsequently, former Mahila Morcha President Richa Pandey delivered an address, outlining the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ (Service Pledge Campaign) to mark the completion of 25 years. As part of the Mahila Morcha’s responsibilities, an ‘Angan Utsav’ (Courtyard Festival) will be celebrated. Activities will include visiting 10,800 Anganwadis across Delhi, engaging with Self-Help Groups, and appointing coordinators at the Mandal (local unit) and Assembly constituency levels. Volunteers will visit Anganwadis of all sizes to distribute healthy fruits and biscuits to the children. Through the ‘Angan Utsav’ program, they will also interact with the children’s parents via sports competitions and other activities. Sharing her experiences, Sona Kumari ji emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset, working with promptness and initiative, and understanding the strength of the organization.
In her address, Archana Gupta (Mahila Morcha President) urged everyone to raise awareness among their teams and fellow women, provide them with training, and ensure the smooth progress of organizational activities. She encouraged them to take on roles such as District President, District In-charge, or Lok Sabha In-charge and maximize their work output.
