Jammu, Oct 22 (ITN): Jammu Police have seized 804 grams of heroin and 1.114 kg of opium from the Talhar village area of Sector Arnia and arrested one person in connection with a suspected drug trafficking network allegedly linked to drone-based smuggling.
According to an official police handout, the investigation began after information regarding alleged drug consumption led to the registration of an FIR at Police Station RS Pura on October 20. Further questioning reportedly revealed leads pointing towards a possible cross-border narcotics network.
Police are investigating the suspected drone-dropping link and examining the source of the seized contraband, its intended recipients and the possible involvement of other persons.
Further investigation is underway under the ongoing anti-narcotics drive, Operation Sanjeevani, to uncover the wider trafficking network.
