New Delhi, August 15, 2026:  Shri Ram Hospital & Heart Centre, Vikas Puri, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with a strong message of patriotism, service and humanity.

The special Independence Day celebration was graced by Sh. Rajiv Babbar, Member, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Sh. Harish Oberoi, Municipal Councillor, Keshopur, Ward 103 and Chairman, West Zone, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) as the Chief Guests. The distinguished guests participated in the celebrations and appreciated the hospital’s commitment towards healthcare and community service.

The programme included the flag-hoisting ceremony and the National Anthem, followed by a celebration of the spirit of freedom, unity and progress. The occasion also recognised the contribution of the hospital’s *Healthcare Warriors—doctors, nurses, paramedical professionals and support staff—*who continue to serve patients with dedication and compassion.

A special dance performance by the hospital staff added energy and patriotic spirit to the event. The performance reflected the strong sense of teamwork, unity and camaraderie among the hospital’s employees.

The highlight of the celebration was the announcement of a unique social healthcare initiative by Shri Ram Hospital: every citizen visiting the hospital’s Emergency Department will receive free First-Aid Treatment.

In an emergency, the first few minutes can be critical. However, many people delay seeking medical attention because of concerns about treatment costs or lack of immediate access to healthcare. Timely first aid can play an important role in stabilising a patient and preventing a condition from becoming more serious.

Through this initiative, Shri Ram Hospital aims to ensure that financial limitations do not become a barrier to receiving timely first aid. Citizens arriving at the Emergency Department will be provided free first-aid treatment, while those requiring further medical attention will be appropriately guided regarding the next steps of care.

The initiative carries a simple but powerful message: “Timely treatment is everyone’s right.”

For Shri Ram Hospital, being a Healthcare Warrior means going beyond treatment and standing with the community when people need medical assistance the most. The initiative reflects the hospital’s commitment to compassion, accessibility and social responsibility.

Launched on Independence Day, this initiative is a step towards making immediate healthcare support more accessible to citizens and strengthening the spirit of service that lies at the heart of the healthcare profession.
