Bhaderwah (J&K), Jan 22: The entire Jammu and Kashmir region stands united in grief following a heartbreaking accident in mountanious Doda district that claimed the lives of ten valiant Army personnel, casting a deep shadow of sorrow across the state.

The tragic incident occurred near Thanala (Khanni Top ) about 215 km from Jammu city on the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road when an Army vehicle, carrying 21 soldiers to a forward high-altitude post, lost control and plunged into a steep gorge. The impact proved fatal for ten soldiers, who attained martyrdom on the spot.

Immediately after the accident, the Indian Army, with the support of local residents, launched an intensive rescue operation in extremely difficult terrain. The remaining ten soldiers, who suffered serious injuries, were promptly airlifted to an Udhampur Army hospital for advanced medical care, where they continue to receive treatment.

As the news spread, an outpouring of condolences and prayers emerged from every corner of the region. Social media platforms were filled with heartfelt tributes, reflecting the collective anguish of the people and their unwavering solidarity with the Indian Army. Messages of sympathy poured in for the bereaved families, honouring the supreme sacrifice made by the fallen soldiers.

The tragic loss has left the state in mourning, with citizens paying homage to the courage, dedication, and selfless service of the soldiers who laid down their lives while serving the nation.
