ANTF Jammu Busts Inter-State Drug Syndicate, Seizes 750 Bottles of Cough Syrup

Jammu, September 2 (ITN) : The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu has busted an alleged inter-state drug trafficking syndicate and seized 750 bottles of cough syrup being transported from Delhi to Jammu, officials said on Wednesday.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the ANTF intercepted a sleeper bus, RK Holiday, bearing registration number MP07 ZT-7771, in the Narwal area of Jammu.

During a search of the Delhi-Jammu bound bus, officials recovered 750 bottles of Altorex-CD Syrup, allegedly concealed in the luggage compartment.

Two persons identified as Swaran Singh, a resident of Bari Brahmana, Samba, and Joginder Singh, a resident of Swankha Morh, Samba, were arrested in connection with the case.

The ANTF has registered FIR No. 06/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station ANTF Jammu.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the alleged syndicate was procuring narcotic or psychotropic cough syrup from Delhi and transporting it to Jammu for further supply to local youth at exorbitant prices, officials said.

The agency is now probing the wider network and its backward and forward linkages. Further arrests are likely as the investigation progresses.

The ANTF J&K has reiterated its resolve to dismantle drug trafficking networks and intensify its efforts to make Jammu and Kashmir free from the menace of drugs.
