Shree Cement, through its Shree Foundation Trust, has launched a tailoring skill development programme in Kodla and nearby villages with the aim of empowering rural women through sustainable livelihood opportunities. The initiative addresses the ongoing challenge of unemployment among women in the region, which often restricts their ability to contribute financially to their households and improve their families’ overall quality of life.
Under this programme, a total of 64 women successfully completed structured tailoring training designed to build practical skills and self-reliance. Of these, 45 women have already begun earning a monthly income ranging between ₹1,000 and ₹6,000 through tailoring work. This additional income has played a vital role in strengthening household financial stability, supporting daily needs, and improving access to education for their children.
Participants shared that beyond financial benefits, the programme has significantly boosted their confidence, independence, and decision-making ability within their families. Many women expressed a renewed sense of purpose and pride as they contribute actively to household expenses and long-term planning.
