Sarthal Valley to Host Annual Wrestling Dangal on September 5–6

JK, Sarthal- Bani Aug 26 : The picturesque Sarthal Valley- Bani in Jammu and Kashmir is all set to host its annual wrestling Dangal on September 5 and 6, with wrestlers from different areas expected to participate in the much-awaited sporting event.

According to the organisers, the winner of the main bout will receive a cash prize of ₹50,000, while the second and third positions will carry prizes of ₹21,000 and ₹10,000, respectively.

Dangal President Babu Gujjar appealed to people from Bhaderwah, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Banihal to visit Sarthal and enjoy the traditional wrestling event amid the scenic beauty of the valley.

“Sarthal is not only known for its natural beauty but also for its traditional hospitality and local products. We invite people from across the Chenab region to come with their families and enjoy the Dangal,” Babu Gujjar said.

He added that visitors would also get an opportunity to purchase pure desi ghee, khowa, honey and other locally produced items during the event.

The organisers said the Dangal aims to promote traditional wrestling while providing visitors an opportunity to experience the natural beauty, culture and local products of Sarthal Valley, which lies in Bani and shares boundaries with the Bhaderwah Valley.
